How we work

Editorial policy

How we research, write, review and update the guides on Digital Property Marketing.

Our purpose

Digital Property Marketing exists to give estate agents, letting agents, developers, investors and landlords clear, practical advice on marketing property online. Our aim is simple: help readers generate more genuine enquiries without wasting money on tactics that don’t deliver.

Who writes our content

Our content is led by founder Oliver Matthews, who has twelve years’ experience as a UK estate agent and has worked as a property marketing consultant in the US since 2019. Every article shows its author, and where we draw on outside expertise we say so.

How we research

  • We rely on primary sources wherever possible: platform documentation, official guidance from property and advertising regulators, and published industry data.
  • When we review tools or services, we look at real features, pricing and limitations, not just the marketing material.
  • We draw on hands-on experience from estate agency and consultancy work, and say when an opinion is ours rather than an established fact.
  • Where rules differ between the UK and US, we make it clear which market the advice applies to.

Independence

Our recommendations are our own. Brands cannot pay to change a review, a ranking or a verdict. Some articles contain affiliate links, and we may earn a commission if you buy through them, but that never decides what we recommend. Sponsored content, if we publish any, is clearly labelled as such. Read our disclosure for full details.

Use of AI and tools

We sometimes use software, including AI tools, to help with research, outlining and proofreading. Every article is reviewed and edited by a person before it’s published, and the opinions and recommendations are ours.

Keeping content up to date

Digital marketing changes quickly. Platforms update their algorithms, portals change their pricing and regulations move on. We review our most-read guides regularly and update them when something important changes. The date at the top of each article shows when it was last updated.

Corrections

We take accuracy seriously. If you spot an error, please email hello@digitalmarketingproperty.org with the page link and the details. We’ll check it and, if we’ve got something wrong, correct it promptly.

Not professional advice

Our content is for general information and education. It isn’t legal, financial or tax advice. For decisions specific to your business, especially around property law, advertising compliance or data protection, please speak to a qualified professional.
